Enable Javascript

Javascript must be enabled in your browser for both the rollovers on the Mistakes Examples pages and the Flashcards on the Facts pages to work.

Instructions for enabling Javascript in various browsers:

Windows PCs

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.x

  1. On the menu bar click on Tools then Internet Options.
  2. From Internet Options, select the Security tab.
  3. Click Custom Level.
  4. Scroll down to Scripting, make sure Active Scripting is set to Enable.
  5. Click OK.
  6. When asked, Are sure you wish to change the security settings for this zone, click Yes or OK.
  7. Click OK on the Internet Properties window.
  8. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and then relaunch Internet Explorer.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x

  1. On the menu bar click on Tools then Internet Options.
  2. Click on the Security tab.
  3. Click Custom Level button.
  4. Scroll down to Scripting, section.
  5. Set Active Scripting to Enable.
  6. Click OK on the Internet Properties window.
  7. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and then relaunch Internet Explorer.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x

  1. On the menu bar click on View then Internet Options.
  2. Click on the Advanced tab.
  3. Scroll down to Scripting, section.
  4. Set Active Scripting to Enable.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Click Yes or OK.
  7. Click OK on the Internet Properties window.
  8. Close all open Internet Explorer windows and then relaunch Internet Explorer.

Netscape Communicator 4.x

  1. Select Edit from the menu bar and click Preferences
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Click the Enable JavaScript section.
  4. Select Enable JavaScript.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Close all open Netscape windows and then relaunch Netscape.

Netscape Navigator 6 and above

  1. Select Edit from the menu bar and click Preferences...
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Click the Enable JavaScript for Navigator check box.
  4. Click the OK button.

Macintosh

Safari

  1. Under the Safari menu choose Preferences...
  2. Click the Security tab.
  3. Make sure that the checkbox Enable JavaScript is selected.
  4. Close the Preferences window.

Firefox

  1. Under the Firefox menu choose Preferences...
  2. Click the Content tab.
  3. Make sure that the checkbox Enable JavaScript is selected.
  4. Close the Preferences window.

Netscape Navigator 4.77 - 4.79

  1. Select the Edit menu item and then click Preferences...
  2. Click the Advanced option.
  3. Click Enable JavaScript.
  4. Click Enable Style Sheets.
  5. Click the OK button.

Netscape Navigator 6 and above

  1. Select the Edit menu item and then click Preferences...
  2. Double-click the Advanced option in the left panel.
  3. Find the Enable Javascript for section in the right panel.
  4. Check the checkbox for Navigator.
  5. Click the OK button.

Opera

  1. Under the Opera menu choose Preferences...
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Click Content in the menu on the left side.
  4. Make sure that the checkbox Enable JavaScript is selected.
  5. Click the OK button.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 and above

Microsoft Internet Explorer for Macintosh is no longer supported by Microsoft and is not recommended for browsing this web site. Select a different browser. If you want to know how to enable Javascript for other sites:

  1. Under the Edit menu, select Preferences...
  2. Under Web Browser, select Web Content.
  3. In the Active Content section, check the Enable scripting checkbox.
  4. Click OK.
